What materials does Mariska's Jewelry Designs use in your Handmade Artisan Designer Jewelry?

Jewelry from Mariska's Jewelry Designs is handcrafted using only the finest materials. Stringing materials include 49 Strand flexible beading wire 19-24 gauge from the Accuflex-which is very strong. Each strung piece is constructed using sterling, Bali or Thai silver clasps, and Sterling silver crimps.

Most pieces are made with sterling silver: many of the silver beads and components are handcrafted by jewelry artisans, the Karen Hill Tribe, or made in Bali-this silver is purer than Sterling silver. Hand wrapped or Wired materials are sterling and/or fine silver wire.

All gemstones are genuine and gem quality; gemstones that are synthetic or laboratory-created are stated as such in item description, and reflected in the price.

All lampwork glass beads are handmade by US Glass artisans, the technique and craftsmanship are centuries old, with new equipment. The artists whose materials are selected for Mariska's Designs Jewelry create excellent quality glass beads. Goggle Lampwork Glass Beads for more info.

Pearls are strung on 12-14 gauge 49 strand wire, and can be Freshwater, Swarovski or dyed glass pearls, and the description identifies the origin of the Pearls.

What is your return policy?

Our ultimate goal, and top priority, is a satisfied customer. The "Return Policy" allows you 7 days to review your purchase. We understand there are times when your perception of an item you've purchased, is different when you personally inspect that item. Typically it is apparent immediately upon opening the package, that you are not satisfied with your choice. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, we will refund your purchase price (less shipping and restocking fee if it applies) for any unused item. To receive a refund, you will need to contact us first. When you inform us of your desire to return your purchase, we will provide a return address, and instructions for that return. You may want to insure the item, as we cannot be responsible for lost items. Next, return unworn, undamaged items within 14 days of receipt of item. Once we have received the jewelry in it's orginal, and unused condition, you will receive a credit, minus shipping fees. We do reserve the right to impose a 10% restocking fee on returns. This is usually not necessary, but will be determined on a case-by-case basis. A gentle reminder, custom orders are not subject to return or refund.

After 7 days from receipt of your purchase, no refunds or exchanges will be issued. Should you have a concern about an item you've purchased, please contact us right away.

How long does it take to get custom orders?

That all depends on how specific one is in their description, and availability to proof the design ideas. Typically I start with a picture, or idea that my customer would like, then I scan in options and designs, I think my customer will want. Based on how quickly we can nail down the specifics, it usually takes a few days from that point to complete the jewelry design. The process is very interactive, and prior to completion, one last time, I show what the finished product will look like with dimensions, and when Ok'd, it only takes a few minutes to complete. After payment, all items are carefully packaged, and then mailed Priority Mail to my customer. The quickest jewelry design was one day turn-around, the longest, 1 month (mainly due to unavailability of customer).

Do you offer coupons or gift certificates?

Yes! We offfer both coupons and gift certificates.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Mariska's Jewelry Designs offers gift wrapping, and a courtesy card with a personalized note for a small fee of $3-10.00, depending on request.

Why might my jewelry look a little different in person?

Every effort is made to accurately represent the colors in a jewelry design. I have excellent photography software, and a High Def computer screen. I continually edit to match the colors. If the receiver's computer screen is not exact, then the colors will appear different. The photos of jewelry are the design that is sold, I do not make 2 pieces exactly the same. The usual response I receive from customers, is that the product is far more beautiful than the photograph. In 8+ years, I've not had a returned item.

How do I care for my jewelry?

Mariska's Jewelry Designs devotes an entire page to that topic of Jewelry Care, click to find out how.

In what ways are you green?

Mariska's Jewelry Designs recycles packaging materials for reuse, where appropriate. Jewelry is cleaned with non toxic methods, and products gentle to the environment. Supplies that can be used from recycled materials are utilized. Educational materials are enclosed for customers to care for their jewelry using nontoxic materials. Mariska is always looking for ways to continue adding to her "Green" tools and practices.
